Resources for Schools (page under development)

Arthur Conan Doyle’s life and work is incredibly interesting for modern students as he did so much in his lifetime. His letters, newspaper articles, short stories, and books, in his roles as physician, story writer, poet, and politician created a wealth of resources. This vast array of information has enables Arthur Conan Doyle New Edinburgh Critical Editions Research Network to create 8 educational worksheets covering the following topics, Doctor, Edwardian, Journalism, Crossing Cultures, Religion, Lost Worlds, Global Citizen, and Reading his Words.

Each worksheet takes as its starting point a letter, or piece of text by Arthur Conan Doyle, through which the reader can explore the topic in depth. The readers are encouraged to not only answer the questions posed on each worksheet but discuss the wider issues surrounding each topic and to relate them to their own lives. The worksheets are designed to be used in conjunction with the Edinburgh University Press Critical Editions but can also be used alone.
